Welcome to Civics
 6th Hour Google Classroom

Civics is a semester long course in the study of how the government works at the local, state, and national level.  Students also examine the role and responsibilities each of us have as a citizen of the United States.  There is also a brief study of the Illinois and US Constitutions.
The unit we are currently studying is Foundations of Government.  Topics in this unit include:
1. Fundamental characteristics of governments
2. Types of governments
3. Government philosophy
4. Why have governments?
In this unit students focus on the basics of a government. This unit serves to set the building blocks for which students will explore the United States Government and their role within its system.
