Technology for the 21st Century

Technology for the 21st Century is a career exploration class in which students will
*Create a personal work skills and employment portfolio
*Explore the 16 Career Clusters
*Use Career Cruising and ILCIS to complete online interactive career, personality, and learning style assessments to help realize and better understand personal interests, skills, and strengths.
*Connect and job shadow with a mentor in the community for activities relevant to their career study
*Explore and demonstrate appropriate interview etiquette and skills
*Complete a personal resume
*Visit a public 4-year university (UW-Platteville), and a private 4-year university (University of Dubuque) to explore options for career training after college.

This one-semester course is offered as dual credit with Highland Community College as OCED 250: Workplace Preparation.
