Civics

Welcome to Civics

Civics is a semester long course in the study of how the government works at the local, state, and national level.  Students also examine the role and responsibilities each of us have as a citizen of the United States.  There is also a brief study of the Illinois and US Constitutions.
In conjunction with their Government class, Civics is meant to teach students about their role within government.  This will be done by learning in the following units:

I. Foundations of Government
II. U.S. Government Foundations
III. Political Parties, Policies, and Elections
IV. Rights and Responsibilities
V. Taking Part in the System
