Week of: September 3-6, 2019 (NO SCHOOL MONDAY)
Reading/Spelling:
Students will have a list of
spelling words this week.
They will take a test on
Friday. In Reading, we will
read about Forests of the
World. Students will have
some discussions about
relationships among
inhabitants of forests.
They will have a test
Friday.
Math:
In Math, we will have a
review of Lessons 1-8 and
our first mid-module test
later in the week. After
that, we will be working on
adding and subtracting
decimals using the place
value strategies we’ve
learned.
Science:
In Science, we are going to
begin our discussion of
plants by furthering our
understanding of plant
cells. We will learn about
the various parts and
functions of plant cells.
Students will observe an
experiment with celery.
Social Studies:
We are beginning to
prepare for our first test.
We will be completing our
first study guide later this
week. Remind your child
to write the vocab. words in
their notes.
Language/Writing:
In Language, we will
continue our study of nouns
by learning about singular
and plural nouns and the
various formats for making
a noun plural.
In Writing, we are working
with similes and metaphors.
Other:

*Early release on Sept. 20

student to wash hands regularly,
cover their mouths when
coughing, etc.
