As we are planning for the 2020-21 school year, below is information about Career Tec that is available to Juniors and Seniors.

CareerTEC provides Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to six area school districts: Dakota, Durand, Freeport (including Aquin), Orangeville, Pearl City, and Pecatonica. Per our mission statement, we are "Partnering to prepare students for tomorrow's careers." CareerTEC does this by coordinating and delivering CTE programs/classes that prepare students for careers and/or college; in the process, often providing dual credit and industry-recognized certifications.

Programs are designed to meet the workforce needs and attempt to fill the talent pipeline in high growth and in-demand fields. In conjunction with Highland Community College, CareerTEC put together a Career Guide highlighting the classes we offer in addition to spotlighting local individuals and businesses and other Career and Technical information. Please click on the below link to look through the guide. Thank you for your time and support of our endeavors.

Service Hours
New for the 2019-2020 school year, all students will be required to complete volunteer service hours.  These hours can not be done helping a family member.  Students can only complete 5 hours per year.  Due to starting the program next year, we will be prorating hours for students.  Following are the break down of hours per class:
Seniors-2020- 5 hours by March 31st, 2020.
Juniors -2021- 10 hours by March 31st , 2021
Sophomores- 2022- 15 hours by March 31st, 2022.
Freshmen 2023- 20 hours by March 31st, 2023.
These forms need to be filled out and turned into Mr. Kreiser.
If students do not complete their service hours, they will not be able to graduate.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Kreiser or Dr. Mandrell.
